HÅGELBY MANOR AND YOUTH HOSTEL

Even during medieval times there was a small village here named Hogslaby made up of two farms surrounded by ancient grave mound which show that people have lived here since the iron age.

The man who truly set his stamp on todays Hagelby is the telephone magnate L M Ericsson. Around 1906 he built the large farm buildings and 1918 the magnificient main residence and a large park. The park is very pleasant during all seasons of the year

One part of the park has been arranged by the Association of Swedish Garden Amateurs as an exhibition for their 50 years anniversary and is by itself an aim for many visitors. There is also a ceramic workshop, an art galleri and refreshment stall.
